Valkyrie

I went to watch the movie Valkyrie yesterday. It was that or Yes man. I wanted to watch Yes man. But Jo said it wasn't good. So. Ah well. Valkyrie was showing earlier anyhow. =] I love studying history. . . (although it exits my head as soon as I stop reading about it) but! I enjoy it. It's just so rich. I just love reading about people, their deeds, etc. Anyway. . . .

It is based on a true story to assassinate Hitler and basically what unfurls from that decision. I don't have to tell you how the story ends. I think we all know the ending. But there was this bit at the end that really pulled at my heart strings. Okay la. I'll be frank. =.= I'm a wussie and it made tears fall from my eyes. There =]

Should this be counted as a spoiler? =.= Don't read on i suppose?

But I believe it really takes an incredible amount of loyalty and courage to WALK in front of your comrade that's about to be executed, and take the shots with your back toward the soldiers and your eyes towards him. I know its one thing about taking a shot to prevent your pal from getting hurt. But that's just instinct really. And you don't quite think. Just bam! And done. But to walk in front of him and wait for the shots to come is just. Wow. Loyalty seriously touches me . To tears. I really value that. Man. Yeah. I could watch this movie over again and again.

Okay. =] Enough of that. Today I attended my first cell group. Grin. Honestly what I went for was just the food. Hee. But! What I got out of it was alot more than I bargained for. And I'm glad for that. I ended up with my perspectives broadened, my eyes opened ( or at least as open as they can be right now, hee) and a new found respect for people. People that live the word and are living examples of that word. Like compassion. We learned about that. =] What it meant, and the other meaning of actually being that word. Being compassion in action. Ahh its kind of weird if I try to explain. But it was a really good experience. And next time . . I won't be going just for the food. Haha.

Back during orientation week when we were touring UWA, on our way back to Trinity college, there was this chinese aunty that came up to me and started talking.

So she asked me my name and stuff like that then....

"Which school do you go to?" she asks.
"Oh, I'm home schooled."
"Really?! Ohh yesterday I met one boy who is homeschooled too! I forgot his name though. Maybe you know him?"

So I thought hey, maybe she's talking about Jo. Not too sure though =] a few other guys were from homeschools too apparently.

Then she went on to say, "I met his parents last night too! But I forgot their names. Ne, one elderly couple."

So I went on to say, "What's the boy look like?"
She looked around and then went ,"Ne ne, that plumpish boy at the back!"

LOL!!! PLUMPISH. Well. If that isn't a cue to slim down, I don't know what is.
I've got my address already. So! If you want to, mail me at

Happy Australia Day!!

I ate two bananas for breakfast. =.= This would not happen in Malaysia xD Ah well. Its healthy. We went down to the city center and took quite a few pictures =] Jo has them on his com. So yeah. Its nice to window shop. Haha.

Hmm. . . taking the bus and train is really fun. The transport here is pretty punctual. Ooh my housemate Loreen works in McDonalds! And they pay 10 bucks an hour. Subway pays....15. Whoohoo. The money is good. =] We went over to Carousel (shopping mall) but it was closed, so we went over to Mc Donald's for lunch. The prices are more or less the same on certain stuff. A set is like 6 bucks something something. =] Hee. Jo ordered a large set. =.= Greedy I tell you. Well. Enough of that though. =]
I tried their mini snack wrap for a dollar and ninety five. Not bad. =]

After lunch we walked over to Bunnings warehouse, but didn't end up purchasing anything. So expensive T_T

Later on during the day we went to the city. Jo was pooped by the end of it. Grin. Exercise buddy.

After that we got picked up for steamboat =D then went to watch the fireworks! It was fun. =D

We did a tour of UWA yesterday =] The campus was beauuutiful. =D Its open to the general public on weekends, and people actually go there to have picnics and such. Its just lovely.

I wish I studied there T_T Oh, UWA stands for the University of Western Australia.

I did a bush dance yesterday night too! It was tons of fun! We were all sweaty and hot by the end of it, but man. It was good! There was country folk music played by a live band, with a fiddle, acoustic guitar, and electric mandolin. They taught us the dance steps and we danced! FUN FUN FUN!

Today was the last day of orientation. Our orientation is 5 days, the longest in all of Australia. Nyahaha.

Oh yeah you should check out this song. Its an old hymn called Be Thou My Vision. A friend of mine can play it on the piano. =] I think you'll like it.

I think I'm going to like Perth alot. I wanna get a bike! So many people cycle here, and their parks are just awesome. Today we're gonna tour Murdoch and then go shopping afterwards =D

Whoo! Take care guys.

And =.= Did anyone tear up at my letters? Cos I certainly teared up at yours.

Aussie aussie aussie! Oui Oui Oui!

Nyahahaa. This is like..my third day into orientation week and the food they serve here is pretty good =] But I couldn't really eat anything for the last couple of days. So yeah. The orientation is being held at Trinity college, and the dorms are like jail cells >< Hee. Seriously. The walls are bricks painted white, and the windows are barred and there's no circulation in the room @_@ no fan.

Ah well. =.= I made new friends =D So that was pretty cool. They're all international students, so there are people from zambia, a girl from Finland and etc . .

The first day was really bad. . . . I went back to my jail cell and started crying. Hee. . .

Btw lerry, Jo is showing photos of you. And somebody says you're hot. . . . you can chew out his bumbum when he gets home in howmany months.

I barfed on the plaannneee!! It was sick. First time ever on a plane. Yea... And now I have a cough too. I did banking today =D So that was fun. And! I won a free movie ticket by answering a question, which was even more fun.

The summer weather is pretty good so far. =] It hasn't gotten into the 40's yet.

Done for now =D HEY YOU PEOPLE TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES OKAY! OR I'LL COME BACK AND SLOT YOU!!!

SC Krabi

From left: Bro, me, Priya, Mei Ling, Ee Shuen (I wonder if i spelled that right)

The above two shots were taken in the morning =D so the water looked really clean. But when we went back in the evening, it kinda got murkier.

We visited a few other places in Krabi like the fish farm and the Tiger temple. It was a pretty cool place. I'll post the pictures in another post. Lol

This is water basketball. Lol. This was in the adults division. I can't remember which team won.

Now this is the kids division. The girls won. Shame to you boys man. Tsk tsk

Volleyball with the Guests vs. the Dancers.

They're from Brazil! Rawr. The dancers that is.

The guests

This was vanilla ice cream with crepe and chocolate at the bottom.

There should be a playground for the big guys. Namely, us. Haha! I mean, kids get to have all the fun. And everytime we wanna have some on the playground, someone kicks us out of it. Too big =\ Lol and over 12 at that.

There should be a rule for no nagging on people's b'day's. Seriously. Its the person's special day, and you nag. T_T To parents! Big nono. Its bad. You get to nag for the other 364 days of the year. But not on the person's b'day. As if nagging the person wasn't bad enough, grin, they then proceed to nag the poor person's older sibling. Me. T_T Which then makes me suddenly want Australia more. But I realize then, that it is futile. Since I have to keep in touch everyday. So, they still get to nag me even when I'm a thousand or more miles away from them.

THANK YOU TECHNOLOGY!! T_T How much I love and adore thee.

Rise of the Argonauts

Rise of the what?! Yes. Weird name. I just started playing it, haha yeah, PC games are all the rage for me now. Grin. Okay =.= so it was supposed to be my bro's b'day present. So! I got him a game we'd both enjoy =D nyahaha. Greek mythology. Who doesn't love it =]

The game has got a few bugs. Doors don't open right. Which means you can't progress, so you have to save and reload for the bugs to fix. And the character's voices comes on as and when it likes. So you have completely no idea when they're speaking, unless you set for subtitles. Man! So I've only heard my main character speak like...twice. Yeahh. . But the Greek gods look pretty cool =D like Athenaaa and Hermes. Rawr.

And the mouse sensitivity is just insane T_T And I haven't found the setting to fix it. A sharp flick and your camera does a complete 360. Woah

House of Wax

Yeah, I watched House of Wax recently, and boy was it creepy. How anyone can think up stuff like that is seriously beyond me. Practically everybody ends up dead, but I guess that's the whole idea to a horror film huh. Haha.

Ohh right, I went to the bookstore the other day, and saw the Manga Bible. Jesus looked pretty scary. Haha so yeah.

The last few posts were rather awkward haha. So no more of that for a bit I hope. Lol.

Fierfek I miss my cousins already, and I just got back from visiting em. Mmm now I'm looking forward (just a little bit) to Australia. School starts in the beginning of February. Man. I'm gonna miss all the good food during CNY. Foooooddd.

Oh man! The randomness!

What meant so much more

I didn't ask for money. But you gave it anyway. I said, you're way too kind, but you just smile and say its okay. I'm incredibly touched by the gesture, and I pocket it away to look at it when I'm alone. And when I do, its not the money that counts, but rather the three little words written at the back.

I love you.

Those three words meant so much more to me than any amount of money ever would. Written or said, coming from you, it meant the world to me. And it touched me to tears. Grin yeah. I'm a wussie.

And before I go, I'm gonna tell you those same words, before its too late.

I wish there was a Neverland

Grin. Yeah. I don't ever wanna grow up, and sometimes I find myself wishing that time would just freeze. Change is scary, but unavoidable nonetheless.

I wish I did more stuff when I was a kid, I wish my two neighbors still lived next door and not moved away. I keep hoping that I'll see em again, and then realize I would probably never be able to recognize them if that time came.

I wish my bike and scooter didn't get stolen. So now I'm 17 and still wishing for a bicycle.

I wish we (cousins and family) could live together in one nice apartment. Having dinner with more people is fun.

I wish I were two inches taller. Mm yeah =] Being two inches taller sounds pretty good.

I wish that if anyone I knew had to die, I wish that it'd be me first. 'Cos I don't think I could bear looking at the body and give an eulogy with a fairly straight face. I'd just choke up and break down. But, thank God for heaven. So that's not the end. Haha.

Okay. So this turned out to be a pretty weird post. . . lol yeah. Just what's been running through my mind as of late.

Thursday, January 1, 2009

I just got back from Singapore this evening. For four days. =] When I was a kid, I used to bawl alot at coming back home to Malaysia, cos I hated going away from my cousins and vice versa when they went back to Singapore. Haha. Thank God that's changed. So now I just feel incredibly lonely when they're gone. Haha so yeah. . . Okay that came out sad.

This morning when we loaded our stuff into the car and we were waiting downstairs, so then I said to my bro, "Why isn't anyone coming down to say bye bye to us?" T_T
Then he gave me a look and said, "'Cos we're going to brunch with che che Jackie."

Lol. So yea, that was pretty silly. I was the only one who didn't quite know. Lol.

Its finally hit home that Australia is only an odd two weeks away. Like wow. I have so little time left. Oh yes, I checked with my dad and the flight is apparently at 11 pm. On the 16th of Jan. So that clears it up. Lol I'm kinda torn now. I wanna stay in Singapore to work after everything is done. Its alot nearer to home and my cousins are there. But then again, there's that big dream of working for Disney. Hmm. I think I'll just work hard for now and see how it goes from there.

2008 has been an awesome awesome year for me. Initially in January I was wondering, "How on earth am I gonna get through the year?" And now at the start of a new one, I'm marvelling at how it flew by so quickly. Cheers to this one.
