Fremantle Prison
Yeaah baby. Sorry. I couldn't get the panoramic view. Ahahaa. . well I just didn't get out my camera. And am regretting it now. Ah well. I've got a year.
I was never really a sunsets kind of person. But Fremantle sunsets are pretty darn good.
We were in the first room where the prisoners would file in, strip, and then get physically checked. There's Yazid, being a volunteer.
This guy scared the nonsense out of some girls. And no, that is not a real hand. =.=
This is a flogging post. The guards used the cat-o-nine tails (did i spell that right?) to whip you. And the prisoners had a large leather belt around their waists and their necks, to protect them from damaging their kidneys etc and their necks. The idea was just to whip and tear the back.
This was a little demonstration from a volunteer. His girlfriend was supposed to whip him, and he was supposed to scream really loudly. But he was sort of moaning. And that came out rather wrong. . . Seriously.
This chest was supposed to be where Martha Rendelle's ghost would appear on the 6th of October. . or was it August? Anyway, it was when she was hanged. So ya. . That's Ronald's hand. =.= knocking on the chest.
These were paintings done in the cell room of one prisoner, he was only allowed to do them because he was good at it, and it was therapeutic for him. He also painted a section of the wall in one of the exercise courts. He's really really good.
This is the chapel. There were two services a day, and they were compulsory to attend.
This was supposed to be Martha Rendelle, or however you spell her last name. Haha. . >< She poisoned her three step kids with acid. And she was the only woman hanged in the Fremantle prison. After she left, the tour more or less ended. . . By the way. It was Friday the 13th. Lol. Of all the days to pick.
